Wacky Wednesdays

Sorry I missed everyone last night.  If you haven't noticed, my life is pretty hectic and crazy all of the time.  I have to admit, I love it like that, but last night I decided to go to bed early.  Every virus known to a 6 year old's body is going through our first grade right now and after my virus and mega cold earlier this year, I refuse to get sick.  Yes, I can control that.  Can't you control your sicknesses?

Anyway, so I hate blogging and not having anything to share, so I decided to create something tonight. I showed you a picture of the snowman I want to create a few days ago.  The thing I liked most about it is if I create it now, I can hang them up this week and leave them until February.  I love creating, but I hate having to change hall displays.  If it was allowed, I'd be the classroom that leaves Christmas lights up year around - one, because they twinkle and blink.  Plus, they are pretty.  Two, who wants to take all the stuff down?  My room has enough lights to fill a small city.  In all reality, it takes me five minutes to turn them all off every day.  I don't like overhead lights, so I have a small artillery of lamps and Christmas lights.  Like I said, they sparkle.

Oops!!!  I got off topic.  I gave a test for half a day today, so I'm a little goofier than usual.  So, back on topic.  First, we are going to make the snowman from a few days ago.  Then, we are going to do a little writing assignment.  I am learning very quickly that my students do MUCH better with their writing when it's something interesting or exciting.  I figured this would be the perfect project.  Below are pictures of the pages I created.  If you like it, click HERE to get your How to Build a Snowman freebie.

Now, onto what I know you are waiting for - Disney's adventures.  Well, last night apparently Disney decided he wanted to hide out in a stocking on the Christmas tree.  It wasn't extremely creative, but remember that comment about having a test today?  Exactly!  You can't make HUGE messes or be over the top when you need your kiddos to focus.  Plus, he had a couple of falls last week and since we can't touch him, most of the time he ends up on the floor for most of the day.  I'm learning quickly to make sure he is secure.  However, if he falls again, we are definitely going to have him break his arm.

Tomorrow morning is going to be the greatest!  Every year, we make gifts for our parents and do a few crafts.  Since we tested Monday through Wednesday, I thought tomorrow would be a good time to do the crafts.  Apparently, Disney thought crafts would be fun, too.  There's only one problem.  Some how he landed underneath fake snow, ornaments, and all the other things it takes to make cute parent gifts.  He did manage to make a sign, so hopefully someone will come to his rescue (After EVERYONE has had an opportunity to see him buried).  I have a feeling I'm going to have an interesting start to my day tomorrow.  Did you hear that?  Yep!  It is definitely a ChickfilA burrito day for my T.A. and me.  Glad she's on board with my craziness!  By the way, I have the BEST T.A. in the world!  Seriously!  It takes a special person to deal with me every day.

Hope you guys have a great night, enjoy my freebie, and oh yeah, I will definitely have pictures of our crafts tomorrow.

    1. Aw! Thank you :) I'm hopefully going to add one more thing to it this week. I didn't realize until Friday that I had left out the student rubric component.
